Assignment


To be completed the week of January 22-25. This will count as your quiz grade for the week.

  1. Do all your work on your wikispace response page:
  2. Choose your own topic then place your response on your response page.
    • A detailed description and summary of CIPA and brief listing of similar laws in other countries.
    • Debate the merits of different types of web filters.
    • What are the free speech ramifications of web filtering?
    • A risk analysis of NOT filtering internet connections in a school. (Probably best paired with the diagram option below)
    • Other: proposed and approved on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
  3. Choose your final presentation medium. All responses must include a Wikispace page illustrated with images and links
    • Movie Maker movie uploaded to YouTube. Please embed the video on your wikispace page.
    • PowerPoint slide show uploaded to slideshare. Please embed the show on your wikispace page.
    • Audio discussion/podcast format uploaded to Odeo. Please embed the show on your wikispace page.
    • Diagram uploaded to gliffy. (Probably best for the risk analysis) Please embed the image on your wikispace page.

Suggested Schedule

Tuesday: Choose your topic from #2 above. Research and make notes on your wikispace response page.
Wednesday: Choose your final presentation type from #3 above. Finish researching and writing on your wikispace response page. Organize your information into an outline or script.
Thursday: Begin your final presentation.
Friday: Work on your final presentation. Embed into your wikispace response page.
